The Journey
In a fast-moving world, Turtle’s is
a quiet reminder to slow down. This café wasn’t born in a boardroom. It began somewhere between a snow-dusted walk back from boarding school and the familiar aroma of my mother’s cooking drifting through the mountain air. Every time I came home, she made the same comforting dishes, simple, soulful, and unforgettable. That warmth stayed with me.
But the story goes back even further. My grandmother was a baker, the kind who knew how to turn flour and fire into magic. She baked not for show, but to nourish, to comfort, to celebrate. Hospitality runs deep in our family. For over two decades, we’ve been welcoming people with food from our restaurant in the valley to everything we've built since.
Years later, after studying International Hotel Management at Les Roches, Spain, and working in fast-paced high-style kitchens like W, Aspen USA, I realized something, the kind of luxury that stays with you doesn’t always arrive with tweezers and garnish. Sometimes, it’s plated with memory, With
heritage, With heart.
So, I came back
To the hills
To slower mornings
To family recipes and a new dream
Turtle’s
At Turtle's, we take pride in cooking with locally sourced ingredients, supporting the framers and vendors who make Mukteshwar unique. Our dishes are inspired by Western classics while staying deeply rooted in Kumaoni traditions.
Some plates carry the precision of professional kitchens I trained in. Others are inspired by the way I grew up watching my folks cook with heart, instinct, and an unspoken rhythm that only family kitchens can create.
